A interacção, tem sido um instrumento de trabalho usado para compreender como é que os estudantes de ensino a distância, constroem o seu conhecimento.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Diversos foram os modelos que se desenvolveram para demonstrar a forma de relacionamento dos alunos e como estes construíam o conhecimento à distância ( Moore, (1989); Solomon, (2000); Harasim, (2000); Chen, (2001); Swan e al. Serve primordialmente para aferir o envolvimento dos estudantes de em cursos de educação a distância.&lt;br /&gt;Este conceito assenta em duas ideias chave:&lt;br /&gt;Quanto maior o envolvimento do estudante menor a distância transaccional;&lt;br /&gt;Mais diálogo entre instrutor / educador e estudantes, significa, menor distância transaccional.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;O conceito foi alvo de transformações no que concerne às variáveis introduzidas, nomeadamente:&lt;br /&gt;autonomia do estudante (Moore e Kearsley, 1996)&lt;br /&gt;controlo do instrutor, que pode ser directo ou indirecto&lt;br /&gt;controlo do educando, designado como activo ou passivo (Saba e Shearer, 1994).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Em conclusão:&lt;br /&gt;Maior distância transaccional significa, que existe uma elevada estrutura e baixo diálogo.
